Please don't judge me by my face By my religion or by my race Please don't laugh at what I wear, or how I do my hair Please look a little deeper way down deep inside And although you may not see it, I have alot to hide Behind my clothes the secrets lie Behind my smile I softly cry
Please look a little deeper and maybe you will see The lonely girl inside of me Please listen carefully, she'll show that she's insecure Please try to be a friend to her And show her that you care Please just get to know her and maybe you will see That if you just look deep enough you'll find the real me.
Have You Ever
Have you ever felt alone in life, Felt no one cared for you? Or been out with a group of friends, And felt alone then too?
Have you ever had a broken heart, You felt couldn't be repaired? Or tried to touch somebody with your words, But knew nobody cared?
Have you ever needed good advice, But were too afraid to call? Or felt separated from the world, Surrounded by a brick wall?
Have you ever been asked about your future, and said you couldn't care less? Or tried to pick up the pieces, but They make just one giant mess?
Have you ever felt so confused, That you couldn't even cry? Have you ever felt so damn depressed; Have you ever wished to die?
EVAPORATING
Evaporating into darkness now My life is not worth living somehow My universe black So close am I to dying My soul is bleeding My eyes are crying Tears of rage burning my skin All of my fears out from within I struggle to gasp my last few breaths wanting more time, my final request Falling - Falling into the pit Enveloped in nothingness I lose my grip Misery alive, any truth forbidden Passion and love, unequivocally hidden Freedom from my hell, too often denied Pain my companion I no longer try Alone so alone My final thought.. Why?
Paint Brush
I keep my paint brush with me Where ever I may go, In case I need to cover up So the real me doesn't show I'm so afraid to show you me, afraid of what you'll do - that You might laugh or say mean things. I'm afraid I might lose you.
I'd like to remove all my paint coats To show you the real, true me, But I want you to try and understand, I need you to accept what you see So if' you'll be patient and close your eyes, I'll strip off my coats real slow Please understand how much it hurts, To let the real me show.
Now my coats are all stripped off, I feel naked, bare and cold, And if you still love me with all that you see, You are my friend, pure as gold.
I need to save my paint brush, though, And hold it in my hand, I want to keep it handy In case somebody doesn't understand. So please protect me, my dear friend.
And thanks for loving me true, But please let me keep my paint brush with me, Until I love me, too.
"Portrait of a Friend" I can't give solutions to all of life's problems, doubts, or fears. But I can listen to you, and together we will search for answers. I can't change your past with all it's heartache and pain, nor the future with its untold stories. But I can be there now when you need me to care. I can't keep your feet from stumbling. I can only offer my hand that you may grasp it and not fall. Your joys, triumphs, successes, and happiness are not mine; Yet I can share in your laughter. Your decisions in life are not mine to make, nor to judge; I can only support you, encourage you, and help you when you ask. I can't prevent you from falling away from friendship, from your values, from me. I can only pray for you, talk to you and wait for you. I can't give you boundaries which I have determined for you, But I can give you the room to change, room to grow, room to be yourself. I can't keep your heart from breaking and hurting, But I can cry with you and help you pick up the pieces and put them back in place. I can't tell you who you are. I can only love you and be your friend.
MY BEST FRIEND
Today I found a friend,
Who knew everything I felt.
She knew my every weakness,
And the problems I've been dealt.
She understood my wonders,
And listened to my dreams.
She listened to how I felt about life and love,
And knew what it all means.
Not once did she interrupt me,
Or tell me I was wrong.
She understood what I was going through,
And promised she'd stay long
I reached out to this friend
To show her that i care
To pull her close and let her know
How much I need her there
I went to hold her hand
To pull her a bit nearer
And realized that this perfect friend I found
Was nothing but my mirror.
Life...
Maybe god wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right
one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be
grateful for that gift.
When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we
look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been
opened for us.
The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with,
never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best
conversation you've ever had.
It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true
that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.
Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back.
Don't expect love in return, just wait for it to grow in their heart, but if it
doesn't, be content it grew in yours.
It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone,
and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.
Don't go for looks; they can decieve. Don't go for wealth; even that fades
away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to
make adark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.
There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just
want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real.
Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go, be what you
want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all things
you want to do.
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make
you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hopee to make
you happy.
Always put yourself in other's shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably
hurts the other person too.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything, they
just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
Happiness lies for those who cry, those who was hurt, those who have
searched, and those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the
importance of people who have touched their lives.
Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a tear. The
brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you can't go on
well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so that when you die, you're the one who is smiling and
everyone around you is crying.
TO RISK
TO LAUGH IS TO RISK APPEARING A FOOL.
TO WEEP IS TO RISK APPEARING SENTIMENTAL.
TO REACH OUT TO ANOTHER IS TO RISK INVOLVEMENT.
TO PLACE YOUR IDEAS, YOUR DREAMS BEFORE A CROWD IS TO RISK LOSS.
TO LOVE IS TO RISK NOT BEING LOVED IN RETURN.
TO LIVE IS TO RISK DYING.
TO HOPE IS TO RISK DESPAIR.
TO TRY IS TO RISK FAILURE.
BUT WE ALL MUST RISK, BECAUSE THE GREATEST HAZARD IN LIFE IS TO RISK NOTHING.
